Clear sources.
Thoughtful boundaries.
Our guides separate practical planning suggestions from sourced claims. The purpose is to support your decisions—not to replace the context only you and an appropriate professional can provide.
What the articles are for
The Long Run journal focuses on organizing marathon preparation, understanding training concepts, choosing useful tools, and listening thoughtfully. The articles are educational. They do not diagnose injuries, assess medical conditions, or prescribe individual mileage, pace, nutrition quantities, or participation decisions.
How sources are used
Each long-form article includes one clearly identified editorial link to an official organization, provider, or publisher directly relevant to that article. The linked paragraph identifies the context of the source. The rest of the guide develops original planning prompts and practical questions rather than reproducing another organization’s program or treating its entire website as personal advice.
On race and app directory pages, official links support the listed details. A link does not imply that we independently tested a product, that an entry is available, or that we agree with every claim made by the destination.
Dates and changing information
Visible publication dates belong to the article archive. Race-date and app-feature snapshots carry separate source-check dates. Those dates are not a promise of continuous monitoring. Before a consequential decision, confirm current information with the organizer or provider.
Audio and independence
The podcast directory is curated listening. Listed shows remain the work of independent publishers, and listening takes place on their websites or their chosen platforms. We do not publish a fabricated episode catalog, imply guest appearances, or claim ownership of their recordings.
No invented authority
We do not use fabricated credentials, testimonials, audience figures, race partnerships, or performance guarantees to support the guides. Product summaries are not hands-on reviews. An editorial suggestion is not a universal recommendation for every runner.
Corrections
Send the page address, a description of the issue, and a current primary source to [email protected]. Avoid sharing private health or payment information. Race entries and operational questions should go directly to the event organizer.
Primary-source starting points
